What does the stamping on my Windham barrel mean ?

 

 

As you know, we love seeing our readers and their WW rifles.  We were tickled pink to receive an email from Joe Soistman, who shared the picture below of his father, Harry Soistman of High Springs, FL, shooting Joe’s WW, as well as a picture of him during his service in WWII.  I had the pleasure of speaking with Joe, and it is apparent that Harry is a remarkable man, donating rare WWII pictures to the Holocaust Museum in Naples, Florida, where he is featured along with his pictures.

Father’s  Day 2013. My Dad is 91 years old. He is a WWII combat veteran, platoon sergeant, European  theater.  He saw a lot of action in General Patton’s Army.  He loved firing my Windham Weaponry rifle.
It was a day that neither he, nor my son, nor I, will ever forget. By the way, he laid  down 3 inch groupings of 5 to 10 shots, at 75 yards, from the standing position. I am attaching a pic of him during WWII, in Europe. I agree with Tom Brokaw when he says, “they were the greatest generation”.

WW Team – it was great to see the WW SRC as a featured rifle. I really enjoy shooting mine and thought I would share a couple of pictures. It’s nothing fancy, but it is built for my shooting needs. I went with the OD Green Magpul pieces as they look really smooth on this rifle. The scope is a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 40 with BDC complimented by 45-degree mounted MBUS flip sights for close range engagement.

When purchasing I chose Windham Weaponrys over the Bushmaster. I carefully inspected both models and the Windham Weaponry AR-15 just seemed to be made better by feel. At close inspection, close attention
to detail had been paid. To date (before my hand surgery) I’ve fired several hundred rounds through it with different kinds of magazines and it hasn’t jammed even once! It’s a very reliable weapon. I AM VERY PLEASED! Being new to this type of rifle, I exchanged my iron sights for the scope you see. I like it, but I’m going to be ordering a new set of iron sights to put back on it. I own a lot of weapons and I’m blown away at the craftsmanship that went into this weapon. I also purchased this because of your reputation for quality, and now that I own one I couldn’t agree more!

Here at Windham Weaponry we have been moving full speed ahead on the Individual Officer rifle orders.
